NEW GLARUS - High school students in Green County can compete in the annual American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Veterans Memorial Hall.
The scholarship program has the full cooperation of Wisconsin school officials.
The subject in the prepared oration portion of the contest must be about some phase of the Constitution of the United States, emphasizing the duties and obligation of a citizen to the United States. The prepared oration must be the original effort of each contestant and must be eight to 10 minutes in length.
After the county level, the contest continues at the district level, the state level and the national level.
