April blood drive nets 203 units

MONROE - Two new donors and several other donors made it to the bloodmobile in Monroe on April 2. There were 207 donors who presented and 203 productive units gathered, just over the 190 goal.

First-time donors were Shirley Andrews and Vickie Whitehead. First-gallon donors were Janice Farmer, Karen Cessna, Zachary VanNatta and Laura Jacobson. Two-gallon donors were Nancy Hawkinson, Mort Wittwer and Gene L. Rufer. The three-gallon donor was James Cessna. Four-gallon donors were Betty Lehman and Benjamin M. Johnson. Ten-gallon donors were Gary Hessel and Sherri Perdue. Eleven-gallon donors were Deena Ray-Gabel, Nancy Studer and John Kundert. The 12-gallon donor was Jeff Ingebritsen. The 13-gallon donor was David Plenge. The 18-gallon donor was James Roidt. The 22-gallon donor was Ruth Wells.

Volunteers were community members, National Honor Society members at Monroe High School and Methodist Church Women.

The next bloodmobile will be from 11:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 4 at United Methodist Church, Monroe.
