GALENA — For the ninth consecutive year, Apple River State Bank and First Community Bank of Galena has renewed the bank’s sponsorship of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. This transformative early childhood literacy program provides free books to children from birth to age five. With the bank’s donation of $12,500, the program continues to make a significant impact on young readers across the region.
United Way of Northwest Illinois serves as the official affiliate for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Since the partnership began, Apple River State Bank has played the leading role in funding book distribution, ensuring that children in Jo Daviess County, Darlington, and Hazel Green have access to this life-changing program.
Joel Holland, Chief Executive Officer of Apple River State Bank and First Community Bank of Galena, said, “Imagine the possibilities if every child in Jo Daviess County embarked on their educational journey equipped with a passion for learning and reading. We take immense pride in sponsoring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to instill a love for reading in children and families.”
Families in Jo Daviess County, Darlington, and Hazel Green are encouraged to enroll their children in the Imagination Library and experience the joy of reading together. Parents can find the registration link to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at: www.uwni.org/imaginationlibrary.
