DARLINGTON — September 19-21 “Night (and Day) at the Museum, 2025 — Darlington’s Veterans Park and the Lafayette County Historical and Genealogy Society Museum will be the site of a 3-day, indoor/outdoor, family friendly, rain or shine event celebrating the history of Lafayette County. Like the movies “Night at the Museum,” history comes to life with Civil War cavalry (horse) and artillery (canon), Fur Trade Era encampment, historical re-enactors portraying people of the county’s past, hands-on pioneer activities including shooting, archery and more. There will be special displays of ancient artifacts, and our county’s Native American history, A Quilt Show will be in the lower level of the museum, which will be open all weekend. Food vendors include The Darlington Optimists Cheese Curds and Burgers, and Lions Club Brat Stand. Live music on Saturday will be The First Brigade Band at 1:30 p.m. (Civil War era) and The Blackbridge Boys at 6 p.m. (mixed periods). The event is free. Friday Schools are encouraged to attend and LCHGS will pay the transportation bill 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information call 608-482-2483.
