KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The 17th annual Junior National Hereford Expo will run from July 9 until July 15 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
Co-chairman of the 2016 Junior National Hereford Expo - B.J. Jones, Darlington, and Sondra Brancel, Endeavor - signed the contract to host the 2016 JNHE at the Alliant Energy Center.
The JNHE is a Hereford event that brings juniors together from all over the country. At the JNHE, youth participate in contests that can help them grow stronger as individuals.
During the expo, youth can participate in 24 different contests, everything from a quiz bowl to showmanship to the Great American Certified Hereford Beef Grill-off. Nearly $30,000 will be awarded in scholarship monies to NJHA members. At the competitive cattle show, last year more than 610 exhibitors from 34 states entered 1,530 entries including: Steers, cow-calf pairs, bred-and-owned bulls, junior AI bulls, bred-and-owned heifers, junior AI heifers and owned heifers.
