Bud and Lois Sweeney, Juda, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the American Legion in Monroe. The celebration will be hosted by their children.
Sweeney and Lois Thompson were married June 12, 1948 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. Their attendants were John E. Johnson and Betty (Sweeney) Schnulle, Argyle.
Their children are: Shirley (Dave) Leck, Juda; Connie Meighan, Topock, Ariz.; Wayne (Deb) Sweeney, Browntown; Sharon (Bob) James, Monroe; and Randy (Tami), Janesville. They have 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family requests no gifts. They will also be celebrating Bud's 80th birthday. All friends and family are invited.
