Edwin and Mary Smith, Brodhead, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and renewed their marriage vows on February 28, 2009 in Monroe, with a small gathering of family and friends.

They were married on Feb. 28, 1959 at the Congregational Church in Brodhead.

The couple have one daughter, Margie (Gordon) Rufer, Monroe. They have three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
