Thomas A. Saunders and Anna M. Blum were married Jan. 22, 1947 at St. Victor's Catholic Church, Monroe. They farmed west of Monticello for many years, and for the past 30 years are living the dream of wintering in Arizona. They continue to ride their Honda Goldwing Trike and also to ride their four-wheeler each year, especially in Arizona.

The couple has four children, Don (Lynn) Saunders, Eagle; Kay (Dan) Freitag, Monticello; Kris (Pat) Barry, Oregon; and Scott (Theresa Andrews) Saunders, Belleville. They have 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

There will be an open-house celebration hosted by their children from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 at Barnaby's Monticello House.
