Harold and Elaine (Schwend) Ruchti will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married Feb. 18, 1949 at the Immanuel United Brethren Church, Monroe.
The couple has five children: Robert (Deborah), Carol (Steve Naab), the late Richard, Randy (Connie), James (Penny) and former daughter-in-law Eleanor Ruchti (Chad Carter). They have eight grandchildren: Kim (Conor), Dan (Janelle), Katie (Jason), Bill (Krystal), Cory (Kari), Kelsi (Mitch), Lalitha (Ben) and Travis, and a step-granddaughter, Kayla. The couple also has five great-grandchildren, Carson, Sophie, Natalie, Issac and Payson, and step-grandsons, Jaiden and Cason.
At a Thanksgiving dinner in New Glarus, the couple celebrated their anniversary and Harold's 85th birthday with all family members that could attend.
