Robert J. and Betty Penniston, Monroe, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

They were married Sept. 16, 1950 at the Methodist Church in South Wayne.

They have a son, John (Gwen) Penniston, a daughter, Carol (Guy) Calkins, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild, all of Monroe.
