NEW GLARUS - The Green County Chapter of the Wisconsin Alumni Association held its annual Founder's Day on Thursday, May 3 at the New Glarus Hotel, where the 2012 scholarship recipients were recognized.
Scholarship recipients were Ty Mauerman, Albany; Daniel McKay, Brodhead; Carly Edge, Belleville; Carissa Brooks, Monroe; Zach VanNatta, Monroe; Molly Hlubek, Monroe; Alex Henning, Monticello; Andrew Fink, Monticello; and Amanda Kiser, New Glarus.
To date, the Green County Chapter has given 323 scholarships to outstanding seniors in Green County.
The Green County Chapter is organizing a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Monday, June 18. All proceeds from the event will go toward the scholarship fund. Both events begin at the Twining Park north shelter, with the Kids Fun Run starting at 4:45 p.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 5:15 p.m. Bucky Badger will also make an appearance from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Participants may pre-register online or on the day of the race.
