Albertson Memorial Library celebrates ‘National Library Card Sign Up’ month

ALBANY — September is ‘National Library Card Sign Up’ month.

The library will be closed in observation of Labor Day on Sept. 1. The library will reopen on Sept. 2.

Preschool Storytime returns every Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Children’s Programming Specialist, Miss Laura. Each week, she will share captivating tales featuring princesses, canines and felines, animals and nature, things that go, and a special bonus theme on months with a fifth Tuesday.

The Albany Joint Library Board Meeting will be held at the library on Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting is open to the public. The agenda will be posted on the library website and at the library the Friday before the meeting.

Diane’s Craft Night will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 where attendees have a chance to make a ‘Stained Glass Dragonfly.’

The Friends of the Albertson Memorial Library are hosting a bake sale at the Albany branch of Greenwoods State Bank from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 12.

The Dungeons and Dragons campaign, “Shadows of the Infinite Staircase,” continues on Sept. 13 and 27 at 4 p.m. Players are welcome to join at any point. This campaign is suitable for ages 15 and up. 

The ultimate adult craft bash, Creative Capers, returns on Sept. 19.
