ALBANY - On April 14, six juniors and two foreign exchange students from Albany High School joined students from throughout Green County to participate in Government Day.

The day was hosted by members of the American Legion and lunch was provided to the students by the auxiliary. The students toured the Green County Justice Center and the jail.

Presentations were given explaining the UW-Extension office, the job of the sheriff, and the workings of the court system. The culminating event was a mock trial dealing with the issue of texting while driving and the consequences that can result from that under the law.

Students participating were Luciano Izzo-Fisher, Kaylee Johnson, Taylor Bechen, Frank Brinkman, Ty Mauerman, Joseph Blumer, Reece Whitehead and Ciara Kubesh.
