ALBANY - Albany has set the theme for the school's 2016 homecoming as "Game On." Each class and the staff have chosen a game: The freshmen chose Mousetrap; the sophomores, Life; the juniors: Monopoly; and the seniors, Candyland. The staff chose Scrabble. Activities are scheduled for each day of Spirit Week through Saturday.
Monday's theme for dress-up day was Twister Day, with each class assigned a Twister color. Volleyball was at lunch and there was a powder puff game in the evening.
Tuesday's theme for dress-up was Scrabble Letter Day. Students could dress as something that starts with the first letter of each student's first name.
Wednesday's dress-up theme is Twins from Life. Students will choose a partner and they will dress alike.
Thursday is Cranium Day. Dress like a nerd or mismatched.
Friday's dress-up is Hi-Ho, Comet-O-Comet Spirit Day for grades 4K-12. The pep assembly is from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Evansville football and band members will be the guests. The winner of Thursday's volleyball game will be against teachers/staff. The day also will include class games and introduction of fall sports, homecoming court teacher/staff games, the crowning of the king and queen, and the announcement of the Spirit Award.
The parade leaves at 2:30 p.m. from the gym parking lot to the Legion Park. Buses will leave from school at the regular time. Varsity football is Home vs. Big Foot Chiefs (Senior Night).
Saturday is the homecoming dance from 8 p.m. to midnight, with the Grand March at 8:30 p.m. The cost for high school students is $10 and spectators are $5.
