MONROE — Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization of women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism, and world understanding.
The Wisconsin Alpha Delta Kappa State Convention was held April 22-23, in Wisconsin Dells. Members attending from the local Omicron Chapter were Melva Tschanz, Ruth Tschanz, Marilyn Kubly-Schmid, Marlea Steiner, and Eleanor Stalder. Various sessions and presentations by officers, chairpersons, and International Past President Judy Ganzert were conducted. Marlea Steiner was installed as ADK State Treasurer.
The following local members were recognized as Violet Sisters with 10 years of membership: Nicole Jordan, Linda Nack, Phyliss Ziegler, Terri Montgomery, and Lisa Hendrickson.
Barb Sathoff was recognized as a Sapphire Sister with 35 years of membership. Golden Sisters Melva Tschanz and Marlea Steiner were recognized for their 50 years of membership. Nicole Jordan was recognized as a new retiree.
The host chapter grant was voted on and divided among four chapters. The local Omicron Chapter provided the written convention program and was awarded $100 to be used toward a pledge to the Monroe Public Library Fund.
