Rachel Rahn, daughter of Beth and Paul Rahn, Madison, and granddaughter of Shirley and Al Buri, Monroe, was named a semi-finalist in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. The senior at Lakeside Lutheran High School, Lake Mills, was one of 111 students in Wisconsin to be named a semi-finalist. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments (she received a perfect score on her SAT test) and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
