MONTICELLO — The date, time and location for the 44th annual Green County Breakfast on the Farm was recently announced.

The 44th annual event will be held from 6 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the Jeff and Julie Nimtz Family Farm.

The dairy breakfast in Green County traces back to 1961 at the Juda Church. For the first two decades, various schools and churches around the county held the event, according to the Green County Ag Chest, which sponsors the event.

Since 1979, local farms have hosted the event, which precedes June Dairy Month. According to the Green County Ag Chest, more than 5,000 people attend per year on average.

For more information, including crafter registration, statistics of how much food goes into making the breakfast a success, further questions or to volunteer, go to greencountyagchest.com.
