DARLINGTON - Over 340 Lafayette County fourth-grade students and teachers will travel to Darlington Ridge Farms on May 14 for the third annual Lafayette County Day at the Dairy.
The day is being sponsored by a group of local dairy producers to provide an educational experience about dairy farming in Lafayette County. These farms include Cottonwood Dairy LLC; Darlington Ridge Farms LLC; Highway Dairy Farms LLC; and Redrock-View Farms. Additional local sponsors have been secured to pay for educational material, lunch and transportation expenses.
Students will have an opportunity to participate in a mock milking station, feed a calf and see what life is like every day on a Wisconsin dairy farm.
A lunch consisting of pizza, milk and apple slices will be provided, as well as a sampling of other dairy products.
