3 students advance in poetry contest

ALBANY - Albany High School students from Sarah Nienhaus' English classes recited poetry on Feb. 3, and a select few were invited to compete in the school's Poetry Out Loud contest the following day.

Nine students recited their poetry in the school contest, held during the high school advisory period. Of those who competed in front of the judges, three were selected to move on and represent Albany in the regional Poetry Out Loud contest in DeForest, which was held Thursday.

Emma Guenther, Radhika Flannery and Ainsley Krueger advanced to the regional contest.
