MONROE — The 16th annual Green County Premier Exhibitor Competition was held at the 2025 Green County Fair. This event is designed to recognize 4-H and FFA members who have shown exceptional involvement and knowledge in their respective project area.
The Premier Exhibitor Competition is open to any exhibitor in the areas of swine, dairy, beef, sheep, goats, rabbits, and poultry, and is divided into two age divisions. The junior division is for exhibitors in grades 3-8, and the senior division is for exhibitors in grades 9 and up. There is also a Platinum division for youth in the senior division who have previously won 1st place in their respective species. Youth who participate in this division are tested on all species rather than just their own. This contest consists of a knowledge exam, skillathon, and how well the exhibitor did in showmanship in the chosen species they compete under. The skillathon consisted of four stations: breed identification, equipment identification, meat & cheese identification, and feed identification.
This year there were a total of 91 participants, and the top participant in each species and division received a $30
gift card to Farm and Fleet. The 2nd and 3rd place participants in each division received $20 and $10 Farm and
Fleet gift cards, respectively. The Grand Platinum Premier Exhibitor earned a $50 Amazon gift card, with the
Reserve earning a $25 Culver’s gift card. Also new this year, each participant that completed their test received a food and ice cream voucher, courtesy of Green County Fall Nationals.
Sponsors for this contest included: Chasing Blue Farm — Nicole Davis, Green County Beef Producers, Green County Fall Nationals, Green County Holstein Breeders, Green County Pork Producers, Hesgard Collision Center, Klitzman Seed LLC, and Spring Grove Dairy.
