1929 Birthday Party
1929 birthday party
Photo supplied

Linda Babler of Madison shared this photo of, and a clipping about, her father’s birthday party that was held on October 22, 1929. The undated article probably appeared in the Monroe Evening Times on October 23. It said that members of the Arrow class of the Immanuel Evangelical church gathered at the home of Robert Babler, near Monroe [east of Highway 69 on County Road FF], for a picnic supper. Games were played in the afternoon and guests were given rides on Robert’s pony. Those present were teacher Mrs. William A. Miller, Wick Blackbourn, Kenneth Koepnick, Willard Mauermann, Norman Prien, Leland and George Priewe, and Robert and George Salzwedel. It also stated that Doris and Billy Miller, probably not part of the Arrow class, were also listed as guests. If you can identify any of the people in the photo, please let Matt know at 325-6503 or mfigi48@tds.net.
