MONROE — Prom for Pennies is an event sponsored by the Monroe High School Junior Optimist club.

The event provides area high school students the opportunity to purchase a gently used prom dress or tux voucher.

The organization is looking for ready to wear dresses: long, short, prom or formal. Those that have a dress donation should contact Katherine Lehto at the high school. Dresses may also be dropped off at the Monroe High School office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Prom for Pennies event will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026 at the Monroe High School. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Jacob’s SWAG Foundation, Inc.
