There were three candidates for the alderperson vacancy: Dennis Zimmerman, Christopher Vestin, and Mark Skelton. In the first round of voting, the results were: 0 votes for Zimmerman 4 votes for Vestin 4 votes for Skelton As a result, Zimmerman was eliminated. In the second round, the vote was tied with 4 votes each for Vestin and Skelton. Mayor Douglas broke the tie by casting the deciding vote for Vestin. 3. Resolution Approving Selected Individual to City of Monroe Alderperson at Large for a Term ending on April 20, 2026 A motion was made by Miller, seconded by Sheaffer, to approve the resolution for appointing Christopher Vestin as Alderperson.
