How’s your crystal ball working? Mine tends to be cloudy most of the time, and right now it’s downright opaque.
But that doesn’t mean I’m not thinking, dreaming, scheming, and honestly, worrying about the future. As some businesses begin to re-open, there will be a strong tendency to “snap back” to life and business as we knew it before COVID. This is a natural, human tendency. But can we do better? Many of our Green County businesses will not be able to go back to the way things were and will need to explore new ideas and options.
If you own a business in Green County, I encourage you to join me for a free online workshop to reimagine your business as we emerge from COVID. “Your Business, 2.0” will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14. You’ll be able to join from your computer. Because this is a very interactive workshop, we ask that you contact us at gcdc@tds.net and let us know you’d like to attend. Then we will send you instructions on how to tune in. All that you need to participate is an interest in exploring new ideas.
This workshop will be helpful for any sort of business, even nonprofits. It will be especially useful to people who don’t consider themselves particularly visionary. Sometimes it is difficult to see how we can change something we have worked so hard to create. This workshop is going to tap your imagination, shake it up and push it further. We’ll also work in small groups to help each other lift our eyes to see a brighter future.
This live meeting is based on the work developed by Chelsea Hassler who helps corporations develop product and business strategy.
Why this workshop? Why now?
On an organizational level, times of crises can be both threatening and liberating. Fear impedes our ability to think creatively. Yet, if we want to emerge from COVID better than before, we need to move beyond fear and imagine a brighter future. In this workshop, you’ll laugh, you’ll play, and you’ll leave feeling inspired to make important changes to ensure the strength of your business well into the future.
