Thank you to everyone who contributed to helping me complete my Girl Scout Silver Award project. The support I received from family, friends, neighbors, church family, JC McKenna School and the community was amazing. I was able to fill a 20-foot U-haul with supplies, which we delivered to Houston, Texas Oct. 8. A special THANK YOU goes out to James from Best of Janesville for providing the U-haul at an affordable price. A big THANK YOU goes to Paul from Evansville's Ace Hardware and John and Kevin from Evansville's Piggly Wiggly for volunteering to be a location people could drop off donations for hurricane survivors. Also, because of the donation of buckets and lids from Evansville's Subway I completed 21 cleaning kits. Included in those cleaning kits were some of the 500 masks donated by the Monroe Hospital. Another big THANK YOU goes to the businesses who allowed me to pass out flyers for donations outside of their stores, these include Monroe Walmart, Evansville's Piggly Wiggly and Fitchburg Pick and Save. The list of businesses and individuals that helped to pay for the expenses to take the supplies to Texas is far too long to include here, please know I appreciate and I am very thankful for your generosity. This project opened my eyes to how wonderful and generous people really are and I thank all of you!
