From the Green County Veterans Memorial Committee
To the editor:
The Green County Veterans Memorial Committee has worked for the last 12 years on developing a park on County N and Highway 81 at the Pleasant View Complex in Monroe, Wisconsin, to honor and pay tribute to all Green County Veterans deceased and alive.
All veterans who have been honorably discharged qualify to have their name on the walls inside the "Hall of Honor" of the newly-built pavilion. Acquiring names is an enormous project and will take time, money and the help of each village in Green County to get us the names. If you have not already submitted veteran names, we are asking that you to do so giving the name and dates served in the military. The "Hall of Honor" pavilion will be dedicated November 5, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
We are targeting to unveil the Civil War and prior Veterans in May 2018. There is no cost to submit names, however all donations are welcome and tax deductible as we are a 501 (c) (3) through the Monroe Community Foundation.
