I'd like to personally thank those responsible for the vandalism and destruction of the Christmas lights and displays at 2827 13th St. in Monroe on not only Friday night or Saturday morning, but again in the early-morning hours of Sunday during this past weekend of Nov. 28-30. Job well done!
How original of an idea to make an attempt to finish what you started the first night you came to the property of my parents and, more importantly, the display created by my mother Nancy Guptill of items collected over the years. Many of the items you managed to destroy are now irreplaceable. The display of intellect and personal display of holiday cheer warmed my mother straight to her heart. She thoroughly enjoyed contacting the Monroe Police Department each of those two mornings. I can't speak for the police, of course, but I bet they enjoyed speaking to my mom each time, as well.
So, to the idiots who pulled off this great display of stupidity, the preceding letter was mostly sarcasm. I doubt you understood that intelligent people wouldn't have done what you accomplished in two nights. Great work!
