With the 1158th Transportation Unit from Monroe in Iraq as part of the deployment of the Wisconsin National Guards 32nd Infantry Brigade, there is a heightened interest locally in state National Guard news.
Which is why I thought our readers would be interested the announced launch Tuesday of the Wisconsin National Guards new Facebook site.
Not to sound like an out-of-touch politician or anything, but I dont know a lot about the Facebook thing. I get the concept, and I understand the allure. I just havent started my own Facebook page yet, so Im in no place to say whether this new site is helpful or not.
Our goal continues to be to communicate timely, relevant information to our soldiers and airmen and their families, as well as our customers and stakeholders, said Wisconsin National Guards Director of Public Affairs, Maj. Jackie Guthrie, in a news release about the Facebook site. Facebook is another tool in our toolbox that helps us accomplish that mission.
The site includes access to stories, photos and videos. It also is a place for discussions between users.
The link to the site is below. Check it out, and let me know what you think.
