ELKHORN - Brodhead-Juda's bright spots came in convincing fashion during Saturday's Elk Invitational.
While Brodhead-Juda placed sixth out of nine squads with 117.5 points, Tyler Lincoln (135 pounds) and Mitchel Wiesenberg (112) made sure the club finished in the middle third of the standings. The Elks held court in winning their home meet with 232 points.
After earning a 6-0 decision and a 15-0 technical fall in his first two bouts, Lincoln pinned Tim Durkin on the Elk's home mat with three seconds left in the first period of his third match. Lincoln improved his season record to 22-1.
Wiesenberg finished third in his ladder to pitch in 15 team points. He also earned a pin, his second of the day, 53 seconds into the second round against Dane Hocken of Brookfield Central.

Pecatonica-Argyle narrowly outworked rival Black Hawk, but both clubs finished in the lower half of the Ithaca-Weston Invitational on Saturday.
The Vikings picked up 91.5 team points to finish fifth out of eight teams while the Warriors' 87.5 points saddled them with sixth, 10.5 points ahead of host Ithaca.
River Ridge-Cassville scored 200 points to win the invite.
Vikings senior Casey Krahenbuhl bullied his opposition by pinning both opponents he faced after a first-round bye in his 125-pound division. He turned 'Wolves wrestler Paul Gunnip in 3:05 in the title mach. Classmate Mike Pittz (215) also prevailed as champion of his weight class with a pair of decisions, the last a 5-0 blanking of Weston's Kyle Kohler in the championship bout.
Black Hawk's Dusty Weber (112 pounds) and Jake Kaempfer (160) both won their ladders in pinfall fashion, while Isaac Sigafus (103) and Jordan Luhman (171) both bounced back from semifinal losses to Timberwolves to salvage third place.
