Warriors win holiday tourney

PLATTEVILLE - Conner Meyer scored 28 points and Black Hawk won the Platteville Holiday Tournament for the second year in a row with a 68-55 win over Wauzeka-Steuben (8-2) Friday.

"We had a big first half," Warriors coach Charlie Anderson said. "It was one of our better halves of basketball this year."

Black Hawk (4-3) led 38-18 at the break and led by as much as 27 in the second half before the reserves got into the game.

C.J. Leuzinger scored 13 for the Warriors, and teammates Kyle Lovelace and Jett Rufenacht each had 8.

Black Hawk jumps right back into action Tuesday at Darlington (6-2).



Girls Basketball

Juda 57, North Crawford 39

River Ridge 69, Juda 29

NORTH CRAWFORD - River Ridge's Skylar White scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Timberwolves to a big win over Juda in the championship of the North Crawford Tournament Friday.

River Ridged jumped out to a 43-18 lead at the half. Juda's Montana Steinmann scored a team-high 13 points and was 6 of 11 from the free-throw line. Senior teammate Erika Duecker added 6 points.

In the first game of the tournament, Juda senior MacKenzie Byrne scored a team-high 17 points to help the Panthers roll to a win over North Crawford.

Juda senior Hailey Kammerer added 12 points and Hannah Powers chipped in 9 points.

North Crawford's Lexi Mack scored a game-high 20 points.
