SOUTH WAYNE - Junior Brianna Hagen scored a game-high 16 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Black Hawk girls basketball team to a 54-20 win over Argyle Friday.

With the win, Black Hawk (19-0, 10-0 Six Rivers East), the second-ranked team in the Associated Press Division 5 state poll, won the Six Rivers East Conference outright.

"I think we are playing pretty well right now," Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said. "I think our effort is always there. We still have a lot of things we need to work on. Tonight, we didn't always finish our shots around the rim the way we like to. Sometimes that is a focus thing. Sometimes it's a technique thing. It's something we have to get better at."

The Warriors jumped out to a 17-point lead at the half. Black Hawk outscored the Orioles 25-8 in the second half and hit seven 3-pointers in the game.

"They are a very good defensive team," Argyle coach Kurt Ritschard said. "We had a tendency to turn the ball over a little bit. It's been a struggle for us this year. We definitely have to do a better job of handling their press and making smart decisions with the basketball."

Black Hawk freshman Natalie Leuzinger added 12 points and a team-high six assists, and freshman Hannah Butler chipped in 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

Argyle's Alexis Leigh and sophomore Alysabeth Lantz each scored a team-high four points.
