Warriors rout Comets

SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk sophomore Conner Meyer and senior Josh Meier combined to score 42 points to lead the Warriors to an 86-40 win over the Albany boys basketball team Tuesday.

Meyer scored a game-high 22 points, and Meier added 20 points. The Black Hawk duo scored 26 of their points in the first half as the Warriors built a 46-23 lead at the half.

Black Hawk improves to 4-1, 3-1 Six Rivers East.

"Early on, we did a good job of going inside and getting easy baskets," Black Hawk coach Charlie Anderson said. "It allowed us to set up our press to get some steals and get some easy baskets."

Black Hawk junior Jett Rufenacht scored 18 points and junior C.J. Leuzinger chipped in 10 points. Rufenacht and junior Jared Knapp each hit two 3-pointers.

"I thought he (Rufenacht) did a really good job of shooting in rhythm," Anderson said. "He gave us a big spark off the bench tonight."

Albany senior Connor Trow scored a team-high 17 points and drilled five 3-pointers. Senior teammate Brock Gilkes added nine points and hit two 3-pointers.

Albany drops to 4-4, 1-3.



Juda 71, Parkview 35

JUDA - Junior Keagen Haffele scored a game-high 26 points and had five steals to power Juda to a rout of Parkview.

"We had solid team defense," Juda coach James Pickett said. "We forced Parkview to make turnovers that led to transition points. We played the style of basketball we wanted to play and righted the ship after last week's loss to Black Hawk. It's good momentum going into our holiday tournament at Williams Bay."

Juda senior Matt Schmitt scored 17 points, and Joe Rackow had 11 points and nine rebounds.



Barneveld 76, Monticello 18

BARNEVELD - The Golden Eagles jumped out to a big lead and rolled to a win over Monticello.

Barneveld (5-0, 3-0 Six Rivers East), ranked No. 1 in the WisSports.net Division 4 Coaches poll, had a 13-0 run to start the game and led by 31 points at the half. The Eagles outscored the Ponies 28-2 in the second half.

Barneveld's Mike Zouski and Trey Lambe each had a game-high 13 points.

Senior Zach Price had a team-high seven points for Monticello (1-7, 0-4).
