Warrior girls prevail; Juda squelches Country Day

BELMONT - Black Hawk sophomore Hannah Herbst scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had seven steals to power the Warriors to a 49-31 win over Belmont in a non-conference game on Saturday.

Black Hawk (2-0) used a press throughout the game.

Herbst made 10 of 17 shots and drilled two 3-pointers. Black Hawk junior Sam Lovelace added eight points. With the loss, Belmont drops to 2-1.

"She (Herbst) had a great all-around game," Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said.

Black Hawk will play at Warren on Tuesday and Albany on Friday for the Six Rivers East Conference opener.



Juda 71, Madison Country Day 25

MADISON - Juda junior Chelsea Burkhalter scored a game-high 19 points and hit three 3-pointers to help the Panthers roll to a 71-25 win over Madison Country Day on Saturday.

Juda (3-0) jumped out to a 45-3 lead in the first half. Juda senior Jessica Crull scored nine points and sophomore MacKenzie Byrne added eight points. Both Riley Adkins and Maddie Roth chipped in seven points for the Panthers.
