The nominations for the Athlete of the Week are as followed:
Monroe
Dylan Starck: The junior helped the Cheesemakers repeat as Badger South Conference track co-champions with Monona Grove May 18. Starck ran on the conference champion 1,600 and 3,200 relays and he took second in the 800.
Jaclyn Ditter: The junior won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.92 seconds at the Badger South Conference track meet May 18. She also was a key member of the conference champion 1,600 relay team. Ditter teamed with Stephanie Wyss, Tessa Frutiger and Molly Hlubek to win the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:12.50. The Cheesemakers won the Badger South Conference team title for the second straight year over Stoughton.
Michael Turek: The junior went 3-for-3 with a home run in a 6-3 loss to Baraboo May 21.
Area Boys
Drew Mather, Albany: The junior won conference championships in the 1,600-meter run (4 minutes, 46.13 seconds) and in the 3,200 (10:44.63) at the Six Rivers Conference track meet May 17 to help the Comets finish second behind River Ridge.
Jason Boll, Darlington: The senior went 2-for-3 in a 12-0 win over Riverdale and he was 3-for-4 in an 8-3 comeback win over Fennimore.
Tannar Johnson, Pecatonica: The junior went 5-for-8 in a doubleheader split against Edgar May 22.
Area Girls
Rachel Rygh, Black Hawk: The junior won three individual conference championships at the Six Rivers Conference track meet May 17. Rygh won titles in the 100-meter dash (:13.26), 200 (:28.11) and 400 (1 minute, 4.56 seconds).
Kelsey Bernet, Monticello: The senior won conference championships in the 1,600 (5:31.45) and the 3,200 (12:49.64).
Hannah Kernen, Sugar River: The junior scored three goals in a 3-0 win over Onalaska to win the La Crosse Aquinas Invite May 22.
