Monroe:
Alyssa Studer, soccer: The senior midfielder scored two goals and had an assist in a 5-3 lost to undefeated Milton May 6. In a 3-0 win over Evansville May 3, Studer added another goal.
Kramer Henning, baseball: The junior slugger went 4-for-4 with a 3-run home run, a bases clearing double, three runs scored and six total RBIs in a 16-6 win over Fort Atkinson May 6. Two days before, Henning had one of Monroe's two hits against Milton in a 1-0 loss. Henning added his sixth hit of the week in the second game of a May 8 doubleheader win over Brodhead-Juda.
Mitch Marty, baseball: Marty was 3-for-3 with four runs and four RBIs, including a double, in a 16-6 win over Fort Atkinson May 6. Marty also took the win on the hill in the game. In a doubleheader against Brodhead-Juda May 8, Marty went a combined 3-for-6 at the plate on the day and threw two innings of scoreless relief.
Area Boys
Taylor Berg, Pecatonica baseball: Berg was a combined 5-for-6 in a doubleheader win over Black Hawk May 6, including picking up the win on the mound in game one. Three days prior, Berg was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and 3 RBIs in a win against Belleville. Berg also held the Wildcats scoreless in two innings of relief.
Alex Erickson, Darlington track and field: The junior standout won the long jump and was apart of two winning relays at a May 3 SWAL Conference track meet in Darlington. On May 7, Erickson picked up three individual titles at the Deerfield Classic, which featured 17 teams.
Jake Cole, Brodhead golf: The senior carded a 41 at the Rock Valley South Conference meet at Decatur Lake May 6, helping his team win the meet. Two days later, Cole and a teammate combined for an 80 at Monroe Country Club for the Monroe Best Ball Tournament.
Area Girls
Amber Ramos, Juda softball: The sophomore pitched a no-hitter in game two of a doubleheader sweep of Black Hawk May 6. In game one, Ramos had struck out 15 in a 1-hitter. She was also 3-for-4 at the plate in the game. On May 5, Ramos threw another 1-hitter against Pecatonica in a 14-2 win.
Katie Place, Black Hawk track and field: The senior finished seocond in the triple jump at the River Ridge track meet May 3. At the Beloit Daily News Invitational May 8, Place won both the long jump and triple jump.
Karlie Klossner, Monticello softball: Klossner threw two complete games in a doubleheader split against Barneveld May 6, including going 2-for-3 at the plate in the game two win, 11-4.
