BOSCOBEL - Monroe junior Jaclyn Ditter had a record breaking performance and won two WIAA Division 2 Boscobel sectional titles Thursday.

Ditter won a sectional title in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 seconds to break Monroe alum Ellie Radke's record set in 2005 (:15.7).

"Her times in the hurdles keep getting better," Monroe girls track coach Curt Miller said. "She is one of the elite hurdlers in the state in our division."

Monroe finished fourth at the sectional and will send two individuals and three relay teams to state. Platteville edged Arcadia 61-54 for the sectional team title and La Crosse Aquinas took third ahead of the Cheesemakers 52-50. Ditter teamed with Ty Gibson, Maria Eberle and Jess Miller to win a sectional championship in the 400 relay with a season best time of 51.24 seconds.

"The only way for us to be in contention for a sectional title today was to have an exceptional day and we did," Miller said.

Monroe senior Stephanie Wyss cleared 5 feet, 2 inches to take third in the high jump to qualify for state. Wyss teamed with Tess Seichter, Lizzy Dale and Tessa Frutiger to take third in the 3,200 relay with a time of 9:56. The Cheesemakers' 800 relay team of Gibson, Eberle, Miller and Brenna Bazley finished third with a season best time of 1:50.15.

Junior Jess Leu finished sixth in the shot put and just missed a trip to state.

Miller was excited after the Cheesemakers qualified three of the four relays for the state meet June 4 and 5 at the University of La Crosse's Veteran's Memorial Stadium.

"That is exactly what we were hoping for," Miller said. "Monroe track and field has always taken a team focus."

Brodhead-Juda qualified two individuals for the state meet. Sophomore Heather Clankie won a sectional championship in the discus (117-6) and junior Shannon Klein took second in the 400 (:58.12) also qualified for the Cardinals. Brodhead-Juda senior Rachel Nolte took fifth in the pole vault (9-6) and just missed a trip to state.

Sugar River's 3,200 relay team of Alison Schmitz, Katie Schmitz, Rachel Miller and Madeline Brunner took fourth with a time of 9:57.45 to seal the last state qualifying spot.
