BELLEVILLE - Katie Viney had three goals and Hannah Kernen added a goal and three assists as Sugar River walloped Evansville 6-0 in the opening round of the WIAA Division 2 soccer playoffs.
The Raiders scored all six of their goals in the first half, and Sugar River's starting goalkeeper Natalie Manion had just one save in that time frame. Evansville had just three shots on goal in the game.
Now 21-1-1 on the season, the fifth-ranked and No. 2-seeded Raiders will play against No. 3 seeded Mount Horeb on Saturday.
The winner will play the winner of Madison Edgewood and Monroe in the sectional semifinal on June 9.
