Stampfli tosses one-hitter; NG falls

BRODHEAD - Brodhead junior Erika Stampfli tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out 17 as the Cardinals shutout Clinton 5-0 Tuesday.

The Cardinals had just three hits and scored all five runs in the third inning.

With the win, Brodhead improves to 14-2, 12-0, and clinched the Rock Valley South title.

Brodhead junior Mariah Mohns hit a double for the Cardinals.

Belleville 18, New Glarus 0

The Glarner Knights lost the season series to rival Belleville Tuesday.

The Wildcats broke the game open with a six-run second. Belleville scored 18 runs on 15 hits.

New Glarus senior Calsea Garbe pitched four innings and gave up eight earned runs on 14 hits. She walked nine and struck out two. Fellow senior Nicole Berndt threw one inning and gave up two runs on one hit.
