MONROE - Monroe Youth Hockey Association is sponsoring two hockey events at the SLICE, 1632 4th Ave. West, for those who want to try hockey.
Coaches will be on hand to teach some skating skills, as well as give hockey fundamentals. Equipment, skates and helmets are available. Both events are no cost for participating.
The Avalanche Girls Hockey event will be held from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21. The Avalanche Girls Hockey has two teams - the U10 and U14 girls teams.
All boys and girls are invited to try hockey from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.

MYHA annual Christmas tree sales at SLICE will begin Saturday, Nov. 23. Fresh cut varieties include Fraser, Balsam, Scotch and White pine, in sizes ranging from 5 to 10 feet.
