MONTICELLO - The top senior volleyball players in the Six Rivers Conference will have one more chance to play in a prep competition.

The first East-West Six Rivers Senior Volleyball All-Star Showdown is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 30 at Monticello High School. The showdown will pit the top senior players from the East against the West in a best-of-five-sets match.

Admission is $1, and donations will be taken at the door.

"Hopefully, it will be successful," Monticello volleyball coach Scott Smice said. "We would like to continue it for years to come."

The team that wins the match will receive a gold ball that can be displayed at the schools in the conference during the year, Smice said.
