MONROE - Sign-up to play for the semi-pro football team Green County Outlaws is 1 p.m. Sunday at the YMCA of Green County.
Co-owner and Monroe resident Bobby McGinnis announced in July that the team will be named the Green County Outlaws, which will be a sister team to the Madison Mad Dawgs. The Mad Dawgs play in the Northern Lights Football League.
The goal is to have the program ready for the 2015 season. The 10-game season runs May through August.
The maximum roster is 52 players. The minimum age to play is 18. Those who have graduated from high school but are under 18 can play with parental approval.
The group of semi-pro football organizers asked the Monroe School District to use the field, but the school board declined the request in August.
Team officials said they will announce the location where they will play their home games next week.
