BLANCHARDVILLE - It was a strong outing for junior Pecatonica pitcher Drew Schliem, who threw a no-hitter against the visiting Warriors. With a dominant performance on the mound, the Vikings offense provided plenty of run support for Schliem in securing the 15-0 victory.
"Drew pitched very well tonight," Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said. "It was the story of the game for us. It all starts with the pitching, and Drew showed a lot of control and was able to keep it down."
Schliem struck out eight Black Hawk batters in the process. On the offensive side, the Vikings compiled 13 runs in the first two innings, with four coming in the first inning and nine in the second inning. Sophomore Kyle Kleppe was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI while senior Tyler Hodgson went 2-for-2 with a double.
In approaching the plate, the Vikings were able to draw walks to get on base.
"We were patient at the plate," Strommen said. "We did a good job in drawing some walks and we were able to get the hits that we needed with runners on base."

"Alec did what he needed to do for us to get a win tonight," Argyle coach Chuck Bredeson said. "I wouldn't say that he was in his dominant 'zone' tonight, but he pitched well enough to give us the result that we wanted."
The Ponies left the bases loaded in the first inning, and also left runners stranded in the second, third and fourth innings.
Argyle junior Kyle Olson was 3-for-4 with two doubles for the Orioles.
Darlington 3,
Iowa-Grant 1
LIVINGSTON - Redbird junior Jason Singer put together an impressive all-around performance in his team's matchup against Iowa-Grant on Tuesday, as Darlington's offense pulled through late in the game to give the Redbirds a 3-1 victory.
Singer pitched all seven innings in the win, allowing six hits, one earned run, and striking out seven in the process. On top of that, the ace showed control as he didn't walk a single batter. Singer also went 2-for-4 at the plate.
"Jason is a special player," Darlington coach Matt Austin said. "He does a tremendous job in working on both sides of the game. It's great to see that he's picking up where he left off from last year, and that's a good sign for us."
Iowa-Grant jumped out to an early lead by getting a run in the bottom of the first inning. Both teams were unable to score until the Redbirds came through when it counted most by picking up three runs in the seventh thanks to Aric Geissbuhler's three-run double. The senior went 3-for-4 in the game.
"He (Geissbuhler) had huge hits for us," Austin said. "He came through with his performance tonight."
Lodi 11, New Glarus 1
LODI - In their second outing of the season, the New Glarus baseball team had to make a few adjustments throughout their game against a strong Lodi team. The host Blue Devils were able to score three runs in the first, third, and fourth innings and two more in the sixth to end the night with a 11-1 victory over the visiting Knights.
"We knew that they are a tough team," Knights coach Ross Eddy said. "They have an incredibly strong team and are well-coached. (But) overall, I thought our team faired well in tonight's game."
The Knights committed four errors that allowed the Blue Devils to capitalize and score runs.
"Errors hurt us," Ross said. "Most of their runs came off of some of our mistakes. We play on a dirt infield, so transitioning to a grass infield took some time getting used to.
"The positive takeaway for us, though, is that we didn't give up any 'big' innings, which is an area that hurt us last year. We were able to limit the damage and not give up anything too drastic to overcome in one outing."
Knights pitcher Kyle Larson gave up 10 hits in three innings of work and struck out one batter. On the offensive side, senior Patrick Elzen went 2-for-3 for the Knights with one double.
In other action, Edgerton defeated Brodhead 9-2.
