WHITEWATER — Brady Malkow, a General Business major from Brodhead, is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team, which qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship, an eight-team, double-elimination national tournament May 31-June 6 at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake, Ohio.
The Warhawks won the NCAA Whitewater Regional and Super Regional rounds to punch a ticket to their eighth Division III World Series. UW-Whitewater is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion and owns a 40-9 record entering the tournament.
The Warhawks, seeking the program’s third national championship, start World Series action this Friday, May 31, against Randolph-Macon. The matchup will be the first between the two squads in program history.
RMC received an at-large bid into the 2024 postseason tournament. The regular season Old Dominion Athletic Conference champions won a NCAA Regional hosted at Penn State Harrisburg before defeating Adrian College in a three-game series to punch their ticket into the final eight.
The Warhawks have the most championship experience of any team competing in Ohio this week. UW-Whitewater has seven DIII College World Series appearances in program history including national titles in 2005 and 2014.
