BLANCHARDVILLE — The Bullets’ and Indians’ Home Talent baseball seasons came to an end in the Western Section Quarterfinals on Saturday, Aug. 5. 

Blanchardville narrowly fell to Belleville 10-9, while Shullsburg-Benton blanked Wiota 10-0. Other scores in the quarterfinals included Verona over Arena 3-2 and Pine Bluff-Mount Horeb over Dodgeville 4-3.

In the Western Section Semifinals on Sunday, Aug. 6, Shullsburg-Benton defeated Belleville 9-7, and Verona edged Pine Bluff-Mount Horeb 6-3.

The Western Section Final is slated for Sunday, Aug. 13 with Shullsburg-Benton traveling to Verona. In the Southeast, Cambridge travels to Jefferson, while DeForest heads to Monona for the West. In the North, Sauk Prairie hosts Waunakee. 

The section champions will then play in a modified four-round double-elimination playoff beginning Sunday, Aug. 20. Each team will get one home game, with the third week tentatively scheduled based on the first two weeks’ results. The championship game will be played Monday, Sept. 4.
