Monroe Recap
Boys Basketball (14-0, 9-0 Badger South): After a nail-biting 50-43 victory at Stoughton Friday night during which Brett Stangel recaptured his swagger with a game-high 15 points, things got immeasurably better in a 60-34 victory at home against Oregon Tuesday night as Stangel scored 22.
Girls Basketball (10-2, 7-1 Badger South): Kevin Keen's squad sprung the trap on Oregon to the tune of a 17-2 game-opening surge in a 55-39 conference victory Friday night at home. Mother Nature denied a second victory in the three days as all of Monday's area games were postponed due to heavy snow. The Cheesemakers' home matchup with the Rock Valley's Brodhead is rescheduled for Saturday.
Wrestling: Looking for a few answers as the postseason nears, Monroe coach Jeriamy Jackson may instead have been posed a few more queries recently. Sophomore standout Dylan Schwitz may miss the rest of the season after an appendectomy last Sunday and heavyweight Lucas Leu's season lay in question after the hard-working junior re-aggravated a knee injury during Saturday's Monroe Invitational. Mason Goff and Dillon Weckerly enjoyed standout performances as the Cheesemakers placed fourth at their annual home meet.
