MONROE - The journey to Camp Randall Stadium will go through Darlington as the Redbirds received a No. 1 seed in the Division 6 football playoffs.

The WIAA Saturday afternoon announced the brackets and first-round pairings for the playoffs. Darlington (8-1), the Division 6 state runner-up last year and SWAL Conference champion, will host Racine Lutheran in a first-round playoff game at 2 p.m. Saturday. The other first-round matchups are set.

Division 3

Evansville-Albany (6-3), the Rock Valley North co-champions, received a No. 7 seed and will play at No. 2 seed Monona Grove at 7 p.m. Friday. Monona Grove (8-1) was the Badger South Conference champion.

Division 4

Brodhead-Juda (8-1) received a No. 2 seed and will host Kettle Moraine Lutheran in a first-round playoff game at 7 p.m. Friday. Lodi, the Capitol North Conference champion, received the No. 1 seed in the Cardinals' eight-team grouping.

"I think it went how we thought it would go once we saw the brackets," Brodhead-Juda coach B.J. Bockhop said.

Brodhead-Juda beat Walworth Big-Foot 27-21 Friday to snap the Chiefs' 53-conference game winning streak and clinch a share of the Rock Valley South title for the first time since 2003. It's the 24th straight year Brodhead-Juda is in the playoffs. After losing to Platteville last year, Bockhop is confident the Cardinals learned from that experience.

"They know after last year, come playoff time in the state of Wisconsin, you have to earn that shot at the playoffs," Bockhop said. "If you don't stick to your assignments this could be our last game. Everyone is going to bring it and play 110 percent."

Division 6

There are five unbeaten teams in the Division 6 playoff field including Edgar, Saint Mary's Springs, Ozaukee, Lake Country Lutheran and Athens. Darlington, ranked No. 5 in the WisSports.Net Coaches poll, received the No. 1 seed despite Lake Country Lutheran (9-0) being in its eight-team grouping. Black Hawk beat Lake Country Lutheran 60-33 in a Division 7 state semifinal last year.

Pecatonica-Argyle (6-3) received a No. 7 seed and will play at Lake Country Lutheran at 7 p.m. Friday.

Division 7

Black Hawk (6-3), the sixth smallest school in the Division 7 playoffs, received a No. 4 seed and will host the smallest school in Six Rivers Conference rival Belmont at 7 p.m. Friday. Ithaca (9-0), ranked No. 1, received the No. 1 seed in the Warriors' eight-team grouping and Potosi, the Six Rivers Conference champion, received a No. 2 seed.
