BRODHEAD - Junior Amber Pickel had a standout fourth quarter to lift Brodhead to a 48-47 win over conference rival Walworth-Big Foot in a WIAA Division 3 regional championship game Saturday.
Pickel scored nine of her team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter to spark the Cardinals. With the win, Brodhead (20-4) will advance to the sectional semifinal where they will play No. 1 ranked Whitewater at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fort Atkinson.
Brodhead junior Kylie Moe added 15 points, and went 12 of 13 from the free-throw line.
Brodhead freshman Erin Nyhus had 14 points and hit two 3-pointers. Brodhead made 25 of 30 free throws as a team. Big Foot was led by Morgan Courier who scored 16 points.
