ARGYLE - Senior A.J. Hendrickson scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Pecatonica boys basketball team to a 65-44 win over Argyle on Thursday.
Argyle led 22-21 late in the first half. The Vikings closed the first half with a 9-3 spurt to take a five-point lead. The Vikings (15-4, 8-1 Six Rivers East) led by eight points with 6 minutes, 30 seconds to go and closed the game with a 20-8 run.
"We started forcing some shots and they were scoring points in transition," Argyle coach Justin Jenson said. "It just all kind of snowballed on us."
Pecatonica sophomore Colten Schraepfer added 16 points and senior Logan Green chipped in 13 points.
Senior Collin Argue scored a team-high 15 points for Argyle (3-15, 0-8). Brent Ritschard added 10 points.
New Glarus 69, Wis. Heights 60
MAZOMANIE - Sophomore Zach Feller scored 20 points to lead the Glarner Knights (15-3, 8-0 Capitol South) over Wisconsin Heights to secure at least a share of the Capitol South Conference championship.
"It's the first conference championship for New Glarus since we joined the Capitol," New Glarus coach Travis Sysko said. "The last conference title we won was in 2005."
Feller drilled five of the Knights' eight 3-pointers.
New Glarus junior Cullen Brooks and sophomore Jaden Kreklow each added 13 points.
Juda 46, Durand (Ill.) 32
DURAND - Junior Keagen Haffele scored a team-high 13 points to propel the Panthers to a nonconference win over Durand.
Juda (12-6, 5-4 Six Rivers East) made 13 of 18 free throws.
The Panthers raced out to a 29-10 lead at the half.
"It was a great start to the game," Juda coach James Pickett said. "We relaxed a little too much in the second half but closed out the game by making stops on D and making our free throws."
Juda's Matt Schmitt scored 12 points, Joe Rackow chipped in 10.
Barneveld 69, Monticello 32
MONTICELLO - The Ponies trailed by just one point at 11-10 with about 9 minutes to play in the first half, but the Golden Eagles went on a 21-4 run to open a 32-14 lead at halftime.
Junior Jon Errthum led Monticello (3-16, 1-9) with 10 points. Junior Braden Gafner added eight, and junior Travis McCoy hit two 3-pointers for six points.
Monticello played without senior Zach Price, who was sidelined with an ankle injury.
Mike Zouski led Barneveld, the third-ranked team in Division 5 on the AP state poll, with 19 points.
Black Hawk 74, Albany 49
ALBANY - Sophomore Conner Meyer scored 27 points to lead the Warriors over the Comets.
Meyer had 10 points in the first half as the Warriors built a 41-25 advantage.
Senior Josh Meier added 13 points for Black Hawk.
The Warriors (15-4, 7-3) made seven 3-pointers in the game. Colby Argall and C.J. Leuzinger each had two.
Senior Brock Gilkes paced Albany (8-11, 2-7) with 16 points. Senior Connor Trow added 10 points.
