BLANCHARDVILLE - The Pecatonica baseball team remained unbeaten by rolling to a 19-0 five-inning win over Black Hawk and then pulling out a comeback 6-5 win over Belleville on Thursday.

"It was unique rescheduling," Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said.

Both were games being made up due to rainouts. The game against Black Hawk was first scheduled for Monday and the game against Belleville was postponed on April 4.

Pecatonica (6-0, 3-0 Six Rivers East) scored four runs in the first inning against the Warriors and broke the game open with a seven-run second.

Pecatonica senior Jake Dearth went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Senior Presly Hauser went 2-for-3, and senior Logan Green was 2-for-4.

Junior Evan Prust pitched a complete game one-hit shutout in five innings. He struck out nine, walked two and hit one batter.

Black Hawk junior Jason Treuthardt had a double in the first inning.

Belleville led the Vikings 5-4 when Pecatonica sophomore Lane Busser had a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Vikings the walk-off win.

"I told the guys after the game it was good to play in a close game and a pressure-type situation," Strommen said. "Lane came up with a really big hit."

Dearth walked to lead off the seventh. Senior A.J. Hendrickson, as a pinch runner, stole second. Prust then walked and stole second. That set the stage for Busser's two-run single.

Pecatonica senior Jarrett Carlson started and pitched five shutout innings. Busser pitched one inning and gave up five runs on four hits. He struck out one and walked three. Dearth pitched one shutout inning in relief to get the win. He struck out one and didn't issue a walk.

Colton Schraepfer went 2-for-3 for the Vikings. Cory Linder was 2-for-4 with a double.
