ARGYLE - Junior Kyle Olson came through with a clutch two-run single to propel the Argyle baseball team to a 5-1 win over Albany in a WIAA Division 4 regional championship game Friday.

Olson went 2-for-4 and delivered a two-run single in the third inning after Albany senior pitcher Mitchell Kauk walked the bases loaded.

"He's done that a lot for us this year," Argyle coach Chuck Bredeson said. "He's our leader in RBI. He's definitely one of our best hitters."

Kauk pitched six innings and gave up three runs on five hits. He struck out six and walked eight. Argyle senior pitcher Alec Treuthardt pitched a complete game and gave up just one unearned run on three hits. He struck out 12 and walked two.

"Mitchell throw a hell of a game," Bredeson said. "I think he is every bit as good of a pitcher as Alec. It just bounced our way instead of their way tonight."

With the win, Argyle (9-16-1) will advance to the sectional semifinal Tuesday where they will play No. 5 ranked Shullsburg-Benton at 1 p.m. at Johnson Creek.
